What is fear?
Every Halloween we are confronted with, or asked about, or questioning our fears. Our nightmares. Our strange aversions and delusions. Our lucid dreams that we never dare talk about. So then what is fear? It is simply a chemical signal sent from our brains to run from to the hills? Is is a prickly chill that vibrates in our bones? Is it our heart, racing and bouncing from the hallow confines of our bone cages?
Or is it ordinary? Is in the common practice of not looking someone in the eyes when they talk? Is it keeping a closed tongue when wronged? Is it not wearing what you like because you know that they’ll talk?
We face fear everyday. While we may not know what it is or why we have it we know one thing: we can move through it.
